American Financial Solutions (AFS), a non-profit division of North Seattle Community College Foundation, has recently added a presence on the west side of Puget Sound to offer housing counseling. In addition to pre- and post- purchase counseling and reverse mortgage counseling, AFS offers foreclosure intervention counseling. If you know someone who may be having trouble keeping up with their mortgage, AFS is an excellent no-cost option they should consider. AFS's literature says:
"If you are behind in your mortgage payments or anticipate not being able to keep up with your house payments, let us help. There are certain steps that need to be taken and particular documents that must be reviewed and analyzed prior to working with your lender. Our trained foreclosure counselors can help you gather the necessary documents, analyze your individual situation and help you decide what option is best for you."
